The US Department of Agriculture estimates global beef consumption in 2022 at 56.89 million tonnes. The largest beef consumption is in the US with 12.69 million tonnes (22.3% share of global beef consumption). This is followed by China with 10.23 million tonnes (18.0% market share of consumption) and Brazil with 7.31 million tonnes (12.9% market share of consumption). The European Union (EU-27) ranks 4th in beef consumption with 6.45 million tonnes (11.3% market share of consumption).
