Market access to the Philippines (background information) (1)
- In the absence of a free trade agreement between the European Union and ASEAN, or directly with the Philippines – Poland, like other EU countries, has MFN (Most Favoured Nation) status.
- The Philippines has 66.8 per cent of tariffs bound (under WTO commitments). 2.1 per cent of tariff lines (by HS code 6 digits) on agricultural commodities are subject to quantitative restrictions (quotas), 16 per cent of lines on these commodities are subject to special safeguard measures.
- The level of import duties for agri-food goods, is higher than for industrial goods.
